MacBook Answer

MacBook repair starts with model, year, and symptom.

MacBook pricing and risk change sharply by model year and failure type. Text HDR the model/year if known, whether it powers on, whether liquid was involved, and whether files matter before assuming it is dead or replacing it.

What We Fix

Every MacBook problem has a fix

From cracked Retina displays to logic board liquid damage, I handle the repairs most shops send away. I work on MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and legacy MacBook models.

Screen & Display Repair
Cracked glass, dead pixels, backlight bleed, display lines, and hinge damage. I replace the full display assembly on MacBook Air and Pro models. Your screen looks factory-new when I am done.
MacBook Air & Pro
Battery Replacement
Swelling, fast drain, "service recommended" warnings, and sudden shutdowns. I use high-quality cells that match OEM specs. Battery calibration included so your cycle count reads accurately.
Same day if in stock
Keyboard & Trackpad
Stuck keys, unresponsive butterfly switches, liquid spills under keys, and trackpad clicking issues. Top case replacement or individual key repair depending on the damage and model.
Butterfly & scissor models
Logic Board Repair
No power, charging issues, failed USB-C ports, graphics glitches, and kernel panics. I diagnose at the component level and replace chips, capacitors, and power rails when possible.
Board-level diagnostics
Liquid Damage Recovery
Spilled coffee, water, wine — I have seen it all. Fast disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, and corrosion treatment. The sooner you bring it in, the better the odds of full recovery.
Emergency priority
SSD & Storage Upgrades
Running out of space? Slow boot times? I upgrade SSDs on compatible MacBook models and clone your data so nothing is lost. Some newer models require specific part matching.
Data migration included
Symptom Checker

What is your MacBook doing?

These are the most common symptoms I see. If yours matches, text me and I will tell you if it is a quick fix or something bigger.

Screen is cracked or black
If the glass is shattered but you still see the image, it may just need a display replacement. If it is completely black, the issue could be the display cable or logic board.
Won't hold a charge
Batteries degrade after 500–1000 cycles. If your MacBook dies at 30% or swells against the trackpad, it is time for a replacement. Swelling can damage the trackpad and chassis.
Keyboard keys stuck or repeating
Butterfly keyboards are notorious for stuck and double-typing keys. Dust, crumbs, or liquid can cause this. Some models qualify for Apple's program — I can check and advise.
Won't turn on at all
No power can mean a dead battery, failed logic board, damaged charging port, or liquid corrosion. I run a full diagnostic to pinpoint the exact component before quoting.
Liquid spilled on it
Turn it off immediately and do not charge it. Bring it in as fast as possible — corrosion starts within hours. The sooner I clean it, the higher the chance of full recovery.
Loud fans / overheating
Thermal issues often mean dust-clogged vents, dried thermal paste, or a runaway process. I deep-clean the cooling system and reapply thermal paste when needed.

FAQ

MacBook repair questions

Most MacBook screen repairs take 2–4 business days depending on part availability. If I have the display assembly in stock, turnaround can be as fast as 24–48 hours. I always confirm the timeline when you text me your model number.
Yes. I handle logic board-level repairs including no-power issues, liquid damage recovery, failed charging circuits, and graphics problems. Not every logic board is recoverable, but I give honest assessments upfront and only proceed with your approval.
If your MacBook is otherwise working well, battery replacement is usually worth it. A new battery restores portability and can extend useful life by 2–3 years. For MacBooks older than 8–10 years, I will give you an honest opinion on whether replacement or upgrade makes more sense.
Yes. I specialize in liquid damage recovery for MacBooks. The key is getting it to me fast — do not try to turn it on or charge it. I disassemble the machine, clean corrosion from the logic board, replace damaged components, and test thoroughly before returning it.
Absolutely. I accept mail-in MacBook repairs from anywhere in Idaho and surrounding states. You ship it to my Hailey shop, I diagnose and repair it, then ship it back insured. Most mail-in repairs ship back within 3–5 business days.
Most repairs — screen, battery, keyboard — do not touch your data. For logic board or storage repairs, I always attempt data recovery first. If your drive is failing, I will clone it before replacing anything. I never wipe a machine without explicit permission.
