The Short Version

We're a one-person repair shop in Hailey, Idaho — not a data company. We collect only what we need to fix your device and communicate with you. We never sell your information. We never look through your personal files, photos, or messages during repair. Period.

Information We Collect

When you contact us or request a repair, we may collect:

• Contact info — Name, phone number, email address
• Device info — Device type, model, issue description
• Communication history — Text messages and emails about your repair

We do not collect:

• Social media profiles or browsing history
• Payment card numbers (payments are processed through third-party services)
• Any data from your device's personal files, photos, or accounts
• Location data or device identifiers beyond what you tell us

How We Use Your Information

• To communicate — Repair updates, quotes, notifications
• To provide service — Diagnosing issues, ordering correct parts
• To improve — Understanding common repair needs to serve you better

That's it. No marketing analytics. No audience building. No profiling.

Your Device During Repair

This matters: we never access your personal data during repair.

• If a device password/unlock is needed for testing, we'll ask you to unlock it or set a temporary pin
• We test only the repaired component (screen touch response, battery calibration, speaker output, etc.)
• We don't browse photos, read messages, open apps, or access accounts
• If data recovery is requested, we work only on the specific files you identify

Cookies & Website Analytics

This website uses minimal cookies:

• Theme preference — Remembers your light/dark mode choice (localStorage)
• Banner dismissal — Remembers if you've closed a promotional banner (localStorage)
• Cookie consent — Remembers your cookie preference (localStorage)

This site uses Google Analytics 4 and Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate traffic — which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from, and what devices they use. These tools do not show me who you are, and I never see (or want) personally identifying analytics data. No Facebook Pixel or retargeting, and we do not sell your information. If you hit Decline on the cookie banner, Google Analytics is disabled for your visits on this device.

Affiliate Links

Some repair guides include clearly disclosed affiliate links. Hailey Device Repair may earn a commission if you buy through one. The ESR link goes through Awin to the ESR US store. Clicking it takes you to external services that may use cookies or similar technology to attribute a purchase, subject to their own privacy policies. Declining analytics on this site does not control cookies on those external sites. We do not load an Awin tracking pixel or affiliate script on this site.

Information Sharing

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share limited info only when:

• Parts suppliers — Device model info (never your personal data) to order correct parts
• Legal requirement — If required by law or valid legal process

Data Retention

We keep your contact info and repair history to provide warranty service (40 days) and to help with future repairs. You can request deletion of your information at any time — just text or email us.

You have the right to:

• Know what personal information we've collected about you
• Delete your personal information
• Opt out of any sale of personal information (we don't sell, but the right is yours)
• Non-discrimination — We won't treat you differently for exercising your rights

Children's Privacy

We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If a minor needs device repair, a parent or guardian handles the communication.

Security

We protect your information with reasonable security measures. Communications via text are encrypted by your carrier. Our website uses HTTPS encryption. We don't store sensitive data in unsecured locations.
