Different builds, different repair approaches. Here's what matters for your tablet.
Apple iPad
Screen: Most iPads use a fused glass+LCD/LED assembly held by strong adhesive. Removal requires precise heat application. iPad Pro uses Liquid Retina (more expensive panel).
Battery: Glued in with pull tabs. Not user-replaceable. Lasts 2-3 years of heavy use before noticeable degradation.
Repair time: 1–2 hours for screen, 1 hour for battery. The adhesive is the time-consuming part.
Samsung Galaxy Tab
Screen: S-series uses Super AMOLED (gorgeous but pricey). A-series and FE use LCD (more affordable). AMOLED screens cost 2× what LCD screens cost.
Battery: Similar adhesive mounting to iPad. Samsung uses slightly more accessible internal layout in most models.
Repair time: 1–2 hours for screen. Samsung adhesive is usually a bit easier to work with than Apple's.
Amazon Fire
Screen: LCD screens across the board. Generally the most affordable tablet screens to replace. Build quality is simpler — designed for value.
Honest take: Fire 7 and HD 8 are so inexpensive new ($50–$100) that screen repair only makes sense if you want to save data or have the Kids Edition with accessories.
Fire Max 11: Worth repairing — nicer hardware, better display, higher replacement cost.
