Will an SSD upgrade really make my old laptop faster?
Night and day difference. If your laptop still has a mechanical hard drive, swapping it for an SSD is the single best upgrade you can make. Boot times drop from 2–3 minutes to under 20 seconds. Can you recover files from a laptop that won't turn on?

Bring it in ASAP. Turn it off, don't charge it, and get it to me as fast as possible. Liquid damage gets worse over time as corrosion sets in. I'll open it up, clean the board, and assess the damage. The sooner I see it, the better the odds. Same advice as phones — skip the rice.
